On Tuesday, August 27 your Cooper City Cowboys Girl’s Varsity Volleyball Team faced off against the West Broward Bobcats for their first game of the season.
In the 1st set, Cooper City came out a little tired and lost 25-6. In the second set the Cowboys were a little stronger. Juniors Hailee Osceola and Isabelle Martin had fantastic blocks at the net, but due to a lack of communication the Bobcats took the advantage, winning the set 25-9.
“Communication was our biggest problem,” Senior Paige Lokeinsky said. “We’re going to have to start working together as a team more.”
During the third set, the Cowboys showed better teamwork. Rallied by a spike by Osceola, they were able to score 17 points. However, they were still unable to compete with West Broward’s strong offense and they lost the set 25-17.
While, the Cowboys had a difficult match, they’re definitely showing improvement. Their next game will be home against Coral Springs on Friday August 30 at 7:00 PM.
