On Monday November 7th, the Girls varsity Cowboys faced off against the Hallandale Chargers away.

In the first quarter, the cowboys started off attacking hard and quickly capitalized as senior Jemma Miller put a shot past the Hallandale goalkeeper making the game 1-0. Shortly after that, Jasmine O’hara flew by two defenders and shot the ball into the bottom corner leaving the keeper with no chance. The Cowboys were relentless in their attacking, Dominique Perron scored off a cross by Jasmine O’hara making the game 3-0 at the water break.

“On the field the talent is well individually, but we have to keep working hard at practice to get these wins.” said Dominique Perron.

At the start of the 2nd quarter the Cowboys capitalized straight away with a goal from Olivia Lewis. Heather Mcleod then put it over the top of the keeper’s head and made the game 5-0. Mcleod then went on to score another goal, ending the half 6-0.

In the 3rd quarter the Cowboys subbed in their second team who showed they can play just as good as the starters. They kept the pressure on and did not let the chargers past their half. Sarah Molina scored a fantastic shot from inside the 18 yard line. Shortly after that, freshman Kimberly Slinkosky scored the final goal off a corner kick. The Cowboys showed no mercy as they shutout the game early 8-0.

“Finishing the game was a great feeling and everyone was relieved to leave early, I hope to score more this season and play my best when i get the opportunity.” said freshman Kimberly Slinkosky.
