That’s right, hit the snooze button one last time, you deserve it. Early in your high school career you may have viewed waking up late as a major hurdle. Once your bus is missed you’re stranded at home, destined to spend the rest of the day compulsively worrying about what you’re missing. But alas, you are now an upperclassman and waking up late isn’t the worst thing since the switch to the 7-class schedule. With a license comes great responsibility, and making sure you and your friends don’t go hungry before lunch is one of them. So if you make the understandable decision to grab a few extra Z’s, here are the top 5 breakfast places to hit before stumbling in to the front office.

1.Starbucks
Starbucks, although argued by many to be overpriced and overrated, serves its purpose. Bringing freshly brewed coffee to sleep deprived teenagers is just one of their many fortes. A chocolate chip Frappuccino or a Carmel macchiato puts you in the highest tier of the high school caste system and the fact that the cup is more photogenic than you are makes it worth the extra buck. I mean, what’s a few more dollars compared to countless extra likes you’ll get on that instagram post of your breakfast?

2.Dunkin Donuts
Tenderly referred to as just “Dunkin”, it may very well be the most loved of all breakfast stops. Fast, straightforward and close by, Dunkin provides a cheap yet not as extravagant alternative to Starbucks.

3. McDonald’s
Although you may be criticized for carrying around a McDonalds coffee cup, the fast service and prices are unbeatable. Not to mention that going through the drive-thru is as close as it gets to breakfast in bed on a school day.

4. Mojo Donuts
One may think a 15 minute drive down Pines Boulevard just to get donuts may seem too far out of the way, but it’s worth it. This unknown gem offers a variety of flavors, from chunky monkey (don’t worry no monkeys are harmed in the making of this donut), to maple bacon. If you’re looking to secure the coveted cronut, which is a donut and croissant love child, Mojo donuts is just the place for you.

5. Bagels 4 U
One of Cooper City’s finer establishments, Bagels 4 U offers not only great bagels (who would have thought) but is also very close to CCHS. If you’re looking to swing by a good bagel stop and pick up a quick baker’s dozen, this is your place. Fresh squeezed orange juice and hot out of the oven muffins are also trademarks of Bagels 4 U that are sure to justify your coming in late.
