The Cooper City High School varsity wrestling team faced off against both Hollywood Hills High School and Cardinal Gibbons High School in their final tournament before districts. The match took place at CCHS on Thursday, January 27. It was the last home match for the seniors on the team.
CCHS crushed Hollywood Hills with a total match score of 57 to 9, but was no match for Cardinal Gibbons and lost 45 to 28. With wins from Lieb Wexler, the Broward County wrestling champion, and from Andre Cuff, who is third in the county, and Barry Jones, who is fourth in the county.
The CCHS wrestling team is currently ranked sixth in the county and has a record of 27-4. They will be competing in the district tournament on Tuesday, February 1. The team hopes to once again win the title of district champions for the fourth year in a row.
