We late 90’s babies are all growing up, so now we can think back and remember the good old days. Let’s reminisce on a time where TV shows were actually funny and entertaining, and not what these poor kids have on today.  Here’s some of all-time favorite TV shows growing up, which I’m sure were beloved by all of us, whether we admit it or not.

  1. Boy Meets World

When I first started watching this show, I was not a big fan.  I found Cory Matthews to be incredibly annoying but eventually it grew on me, only because sometimes there would be nothing else to watch.  As I started growing up and reached my prepubescent years I began to watch this show religiously because it had everything I was going through. From problems with parents to boys, Boy Meets World was an accurate depiction of what exactly teens were experiencing.

  1. That’s So Raven

I’m sure everyone will agree with me when I say That’s So Raven was the show to watch way back when Disney was still on point.  Raven Symone made me wish that I could see into the future.  All of the situations she found herself in were absolutely hilarious but they also each taught a lesson.  Every episode had a moral to the story; either Raven figured out the moral by herself or from advice from her father or another figure.  That’s So Raven shed light on issues of body image, racism and personal relationships with friends and family.

  1. Neds Declassified School Survival Guide.

If Ned’s Declassified wasn’t the truth, then I don’t know what is!  Before I got to middle school I would watch this show and take notes.  Every time the notebook popped up on the screen with Ned’s knowledge I would write it down so fast; I would never miss an episode or a note.  Then when I was about to start middle school I thought I was so ready to face whatever situation came my way, even though Ned’s Declassified is only a show and obviously over dramatic.  Once I started middle school I realized that nothing that happened in Ned’s Declassified was actually going to happen in real life.  Except that Ned’s advice for using the bathrooms in the nurse’s office or the teachers’ bathroom is pretty accurate.  Considering the fact that here at Cooper City High School, many kids do not know how to properly use the restrooms and instead will destroy them.

  1. Hannah Montana

Back when Miley Cyrus was not the Miley that we know now, Hannah Montana was the best show ever. When Hannah Montana was on, no one could interrupt my friends and I.  Every time a new episode aired we would all go over someone’s house and have a celebration for the new episode.  The double life of Hannah and Miley was so intriguing and different.  No other show had attempted that during our short time on earth, the idea was so unique that many kids couldn’t help but to be drawn into the show.

  1. The Lizzie McGuire Show

The Lizzie McGuire Show was my absolute favorite show growing up.  As soon as I came home from school I turned on the TV and watched my favorite actress (Hillary Duff) portray a sweet teenage girl named Lizzie McGuire.  The little animated Lizzie was real life Lizzie’s conscious.  The animated Lizzie would always say what needed to be done but the actual Lizzie always did the opposite of what should be done.  Their back and forth was comical and I loved every minute of it.  I had to buy all the music albums and movies and when the Lizzie McGuire Movie  came out, everyone jumped on and became obsessed with the movie too.
