Swimming: Cowboys vs. Deerfield Beach & Cardinal Gibbons

On Wednesday October 3rd, the Cooper City High School swim team competed against Cardinal Gibbons and Deerfield Beach High School.
The girls’ team placed second, beating Deerfield Beach, and the boys tied with Deerfield. Both teams fell short 10 points against Cardinal Gibbons.
Some highlights of the meet were:
Taylor Cook, Ronit Ben-Joseph, Stephanie Murillo, and Brianna Schlunaker placed second in the 200 medley relay.
Boys 200 medley relay team; Jeffery Chumura, Aiden Goldberg, Theodore Sandoval, and Brenton Wheathersbee placed first.
In both the girls 50 free and 100 free, Brianna Schlunaker took first place.
Aiden Goldberg came in first in the boys 100 fly as well as the 100 breast stroke.
Theodore Sandoval placed first in the 500 free.
In the 200 free relay both the girls team ( Stephanie Murillo , Ronit Ben-Joseph, Brianna Burge, and Brianna Schlunaker) and the boys team (Aiden Goldberg, Brenton Wheathersbee, Jeffery Chumura, and Brandon Bogumill) placed 1st.
Overall CCHS had a great third meet of the season, even though they currently are without a home pool. We can look forward to seeing the cowboys compete next week, Saturday the 13th in the BCAA Championship meet.
