LONDON DERNIS EDITOR-IN-CHIEF is a senior who loves reading and writing. Outside of school, London can be found browsing the bookshelves at Barnes & Noble or frantically writing down her Oscar predictions. London is academically driven and hopes to pursue a major in English and a minor in musical performance. She also types at an average of 105 words per minute and brings it up whenever she can.
ABBY GOLDBERG, ONLINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a senior and excited to start her third year of The Lariat! She is President of the thespian club and Vice President of National English Honor Society. When she isn’t uploading or editing articles, Abby can often be found helping with shows in the auditorium. She hopes to combine her loves for English and Theater and live the dream with her 93 dogs and 74 cats.
MELANIE TAMAYO, MANAGING EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is currently a senior at CCHS. The 2024-2025 school year will be her third year in the Lariat. She dreams of becoming a nurse and is currently an intern at the University of Miami’s Hospital. When she’s not at school you can find her at Cali Coffee or Brandy Melville. Melanie is a proud Colombian and often visits her hometown whenever she can.
HAYLEE WINEBERNER, HEAD EDITOR, is a senior entering her third year in The Lariat, and has spent each of her high school years under the Journalism category (where she might continue pursuing it in college). When she isn’t on school grounds, Haylee can be found at home catching on missed hours of sleep or at the nearest Goodwill. She’s a well-known music enthusiast who always attends local concerts, and some of her hobbies include reading, writing, drawing and playing the bass. Before she graduates, she hopes that she leaves a long lasting impact on The Lariat so that it can succeed in the future.
TAYLOR ALDERMAN, HEAD EDITOR, on, is currently a junior during the 2024-2025 school year. This will be her second year participating in The Lariat, and she hopes to spend the rest of her high school years in it as well. Aside from school, Taylor can be found at the mall, the beach, or in her bed, all while listening to Zach Bryan. When she is not bombarded by schoolwork, she likes to hang out with her friends or family. In the future, Taylor hopes to pursue a career in something related to computer science.
TAYLOR JIMENEZ, EDITORIAL ASSISTANT, is currently a junior at CCHS and is entering her second year in The Lariat during the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of school, she can be found at the beach or pool while enjoying Starbucks or Cali Coffee. She also loves vacations and traveling especially when the beach, sunsets, and shopping are included. Additionally, she enjoys watching movies and listening to music. Her favorite TV shows include Gossip Girl and Love Island, and she is obsessed with Taylor Swift.
DIMITRIS MELETIS, STAFF WRITER, is a senior who has a deep appreciation for narrative writing. He also enjoys traveling, listening to music, and watching basketball. In the future, Meletis hopes to have a summer house in Greece and go every year with family.
AJ MELFI, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore going into her first year of the Lariat. AJ plans on becoming a famous artist/ reporter for high fashion companies like Channel or Prada. Outside of school, you can find her singing in the school musical or expressing her feelings through drawing or designing a new line of dresses. AJ strives to be a creative person and make art in every step she takes until she reaches her goals.
ANABELLA KING, PHOTOGRAPHER AND STAFF WRITER is a sophomore in her first year of The Lariat. Anabella plans to attend Florida State University and study criminology. On her free time you can find her running up and down the Lacrosse field or all over the school doing SGA duties. Anabella loves Cali Coffee, Animals, Friends, Helping others, and Traveling. By the end of Highschool she plans to have an amazing and unforgettable experience she can share with her children .
MIRANDA PAAN, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore, and aiming to be a lawyer or ultrasound technician. She is currently the Treasurer for the Class of 2027 and a part of the girl’s lacrosse team. She loves hanging out or getting ready with her friends and listening to upbeat music. Outside of school you can find her at Dunkin, online shopping, or blasting her favorite songs. Miranda hopes to create a new club before leaving high school and leave her mark. Her goal is to bring people who share similar traits together to create friendships, bring people out of their shell, and create a welcoming community.
ADDISON HUTCHINS, STAFF WRITER, is a junior, member of HIP, Best buddies, Key club and Cheerleading. She is in the childcare program and loves kids. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her family. She aspires to go to college and major in psychology.
