FALLAN PATTERSON, ADVISER, traded in her reporter’s notebook four years ago for the glamorous life of a high school English teacher. She is also the Key Club sponsor. When she’s not teaching her students about figurative language, Patterson can be found working on her true crime novel, mid-yoga pose or rocking out at a concert.
ABBIE TUSCHMAN, ONLINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a junior and an aspiring author-slash-physician. She is also the vice president of competition in Speech and Debate, a county representative for National Honor Society (NHS) and a volunteer for Saving Sage Animal Rescue. Tuschman is extremely passionate about the pursuit of knowledge, documenting life experiences and fighting for a better future.
GENNA NORDLING, PRINT EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a junior and unsure of her future. She is an involved member of Key Club, Environmental Club and National Honor Society. Though Nordling wishes she was enrolled at Hogwarts and had magical powers, she loves her friends, family and dogs that can be found in the real world.
ALEXANDRA SANSONE, MANAGING EDITOR, is a junior, Cappies Critic, member of Key Club and member of National Honor Society (NHS). As a recovering chocoholic, Sansone hopes to devote less of her time to chocolate bundt cakes and more to editing and writing articles, as she hopes to pursue a career in journalism.
ANNABELLE ROSA, HEAD EDITOR, is a senior, member of the CCHS Thespians, Women of Tomorrow and National English Honors Society (NEHS). She is the treasurer of Thespians and the secretary of NEHS. Rosa has a passion for writing, politics, history and the arts, and, though she is often immersed in her rigorous course load and extracurriculars, she finds time to immerse herself in a good book or watch a movie with her dog, Sara.
ELENA VALDEZ, HEAD EDITOR, is a junior and is involved in all things related to English. As an avid lover of linguistics, she has paved a path in journalism and hopes to branch out into the more fictional side of things. Aside from her duties on the paper and National English Honors Society (NEHS), she is the Vice President of HOPE Sunshine Club and works to advocate for more mental health awareness and acceptance.
ARIELLE KRAUS, GENERAL EDITOR, is a sophomore, a member of Best Buddies, Students Tutoring And Nurturing Development (STAND) and Future Educators of America (FFEA) and is very active in the Early Childhood Education Program. She loves traveling, dogs and binge-watching TV shows.
JOSEPH STURGEON, GENERAL EDITOR, is a junior that enjoys reading vintage comic books, is a music enthusiast and hates math. He is a member of Reaching Success Together, National English Honor Society and Model United Nations.
SABRINA WONG, GENERAL EDITOR, is a sophomore, co-equipment captain of Color Guard and member of Best Buddies, Future Educators of America (FFEA) and Future Medical Professionals of America (FMPA). She enjoys hanging out and working together with her teammates, taking on new adventures and watching TV shows on Netflix. As for future endeavors, she aspires to be a pediatrician.
HAILEY BROWN, SPORTS EDITOR, is a junior and is involved in many sports both in and outside of school. She plays travel soccer for Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) Academy Plantation along with CCHS volleyball, basketball and flag football. In the future, Hailey hopes to play college soccer, go to school to study to be a physician’s assistant and hopefully specialize in knees and shoulders in athletes.
OLIVIA LEWIS, SPORTS EDITOR, is a senior and is captain of varsity soccer. She plays for Football Club (FC) Prime travel soccer team and has received a soccer scholarship to the University of Central Florida. Olivia plans to study criminal justice in college and hopes to eventually become an FBI agent.
EMMA FRANZ, STAFF WRITER, is a junior who is a music enthusiast, has a chronic case of wanderlust and has a passion for writing. She is a member of Key Club, Environmental Club and Youth Leadership Broward.
EMMA HUERTA, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore and a part of the National English Honor Society (NEHS), Student Government Association (SGA) and Speech and Debate. Emma pursues her love of the arts through dance (primarily ballet) and has been recognized for her achievements through numerous awards from dance competitions. She is passionate about interacting with the world around her, and thus enjoys reading, photography and traveling.
ISABELLA MARCON, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore, member of Cowboy Television (CTV) and editor of Key Club. Marcon is passionate about television production and loves to write opinionated articles. Although she is known for taking naps at the worst times, she manages to keep all of her work in check.
VICTORIA MARTIN, STAFF WRITER, is a junior, co-equipment captain of the Color Guard and is a member of Students Against Sexual Assault (SASA). She aspires to be a forensic psychologist.
SOFIA MENDEZ, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore, vice president of Spanish Honor Society/Spanish Club and a member of Best Buddies and CTV. She enjoys hanging out with friends and family and likes going for a run. As for the future, she aspires to become an anchor for E! News Red Carpet.
RYAN MERARD, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore. His favorite subject is math and he enjoys watching and playing sports, spending time with friends and writing. In the future, he hopes to be working in the medical field, preferably sports medicine.
JULIA SAFRIN, STAFF WRITER, is a junior who is a frequent concert-goer and enjoys creative writing with hopes of having a career in the film industry. She is a member of Key Club, Poetry Club, National Honor Society and National English Honor Society.
SASHEEN JOSEPH, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore, mellophone captain of the Sound of Pride and principal French horn player in Wind Ensemble. She enjoys reading books and watching anything on Netflix. She plans on becoming a developmental psychologist.
KAREN SUROS, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore who strongly appreciates animals, traveling and learning new things. She is a member of Key Club, Environmental Club and Tips for Tails. She is currently working on finding something to do with her life.
HANNAH EUBANKS, SPORTS WRITER, is a senior. She is very involved with sports and plays flag football and soccer. She has been a member of The Lariat for three years now. Hannah hopes to go to Florida State and study to become a nurse.
KAYLA GATES, SPORTS WRITER, is a freshman and a member of Speech and Debate, DECA and Model United Nations. She enjoys playing guitar, reading a good book and being active. She hopes to study law or government in the future.
KYLEIGH SPRIGLE, SPORTS WRITER, is a junior and CCHS varsity softball player. She enjoys long walks on the beach, softball and sleeping. She aspires to be in marketing or business in the future.
CARLY CUOCO, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a senior. She has an interest in medicine, photography and music. She is an advocate and teacher for the Stop the Bleed initiative and is clarinet captain in the Sound of Pride and principal player in the Wind Ensemble.
KAYLA FLORENCO, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a senior and first-year newspaper student. She keeps busy by participating in multiple different clubs and taking college courses. She is unsure of what she wishes to study but is leaning towards studying psychology in college.
CASSIE HARTMANN, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a sophomore and a varsity volleyball player at CCHS. She is interested in volleyball, music and acting.
ALEXA JASPAN, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a junior, a member of SASA and dual enrolls at Broward College. She loves animals, especially her dog Skylar, and you will find her laughing 24/7. She enjoys binge-watching Netflix and loves learning about anatomy.
