ABBIE TUSCHMAN, ONLINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a senior and an aspiring author-slash-physician. She is also the president of National Honor Society and the vice president of marketing in Speech and Debate. Tuschman is extremely passionate about pursuing knowledge, documenting life experiences and wearing SPF. By next year, she hopes to be studying writing at a university far from Florida.
GENNA NORDLING, PRINT EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a senior and is interested in too many things to plan her future at this moment. She is co-president of National Science Honor Society and is on the executive board for Environmental Club and Key Club. When she isn’t stressing about a print deadline, Nordling can be found wasting her time scrolling through TikTok and Twitter or cracking jokes that only she finds funny.
ALEXANDRA SANSONE, MANAGING EDITOR, is a senior, Cappies critic, president of Key Club, secretary of Environmental Club and member of National Honor Society. Sansone hopes to attend Florida State University to pursue a Masters in business administration—if she can survive college applications, that is.
ELENA VALDEZ, HEAD EDITOR, is a senior with attendance issues. As a head editor for The Lariat, she uses the power of language to spread truth and raise awareness for the causes she truly cares about. Aside from the paper, she is involved in National English Honor Society and Multicultural Club and publishes her own unrestricted works on the side.
JOSEPH STURGEON, HEAD EDITOR, is a senior and aspires to be a public defender. He is the media relations specialist for Reaching Success Together and a member of National English Honor Society and Model United Nations. Sturgeon enjoys attempting to dunk, reading vintage comic books and ranting about different social phenomena.
ARIELLE KRAUS, HEAD EDITOR, is a junior, the 2019 Florida Scholastic Press Association Emerging Young Journalist, vice president of Florida Future Educators of America, secretary of College and Career Transition Club and a member of National Honor Society. She is very active in the Early Childhood Education program and loves traveling, her dog and Broadway shows.
EMMA HUERTA, GENERAL EDITOR, is a junior and president of Future Law Professionals of America, vice president of the National English Honor Society, tutoring coordinator for National Honor Society and recording secretary of Debbie’s Dream. Huerta pursues her love of the arts through dance (primarily ballet) and has been recognized for her achievements through numerous awards from dance competitions. She is passionate about interacting with the world around her, and thus enjoys reading and writing, photography and traveling.
ISABELLA MARCON, GENERAL EDITOR, is a junior, a member of Cowboy Television and treasurer of Key Club. Marcon is passionate about television production and loves to write restaurant review articles. Although she is known for taking naps at the worst times, she manages to keep all of her work in check.
KAYLA GATES, GENERAL EDITOR, is a sophomore and aspiring lawyer. As a member of Speech and Debate and National English Honor Society, she hopes to further her passion for writing. Her love of sports stems from involvement in soccer, flag football and track.
RYAN MERARD, ASSISTANT WEBMASTER, is a junior who works well under pressure. He enjoys watching and playing sports, listening to music and is starting to get into playing the piano. In the future, he hopes to either work journalistically with a famous network (preferably ESPN) or work in the medical field.
JAELYN YEAMPIERRE, ASSISTANT WEBMASTER, is a junior, rock music fanatic and lover of classic English literature. She enjoys reading books, listening to music and baking with friends. She aspires to be an English literature professor at Birmingham University in Birmingham, England.
SOFIA MENDEZ, STAFF WRITER, is a junior, vice president of Spanish Honor Society/Spanish Club and a member of Best Buddies, Cowboy Television and Latinos in Action. She enjoys hanging out with friends and family and likes going for a run. As for the future, she aspires to become an anchor for the one and only E! News Red Carpet.
JULIA SAFRIN, STAFF WRITER, is a senior, co-president of Poetry Club and a member of National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She has a love for creative writing and is especially passionate about poetry and spoken word. In her free time she writes, goes out with her friends and headbangs to rock/metal bands. She frequents concerts and poetry slams and has aspirations of becoming a screenwriter.
ANABELLA GARCIA, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a sophomore and a member of Key Club, Future Law Professionals of America and New2Cooper. She loves practicing bass, talking to her friends and binge-watching documentaries. She doesn’t know exactly what she wants to be, but knows for a fact it involves making a positive impact on the world.
SASHEEN JOSEPH, STAFF WRITER, is a junior and likes to overthink everything. She is a section captain for the Sound of Pride and a Florida Scholastic Press Association All-Florida winner for the illustration category. An aspiring psychology major, she loves to read, listen to music and cook ramen.
CAMILA FERNANDEZ, STAFF WRITER, is a junior who is passionate about traveling, writing and meeting new people. She is a part of National Honor Society and Debate, along with Multicultural Club and Environmental Club. Camila is currently trying to figure out what she wants to pursue in life and how she will make a mark on the world.
CHRIS GOMES, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore, secretary of Model United Nations and a member of Future Law Professionals of America. He enjoys listening to music, watching Netflix shows and keeping up with the latest social issues. Gomes aspires to become a lawyer or pursue a government job in the future.
EMMA FRANZ, STAFF WRITER, is a senior who is a member of National Honor Society. She is a music enthusiast, has a chronic case of wanderlust and a passion for writing. Franz hopes to attend University of South Florida and study public relations after high school.
SANDRA GARCIA, STAFF WRITER, is a senior who is the vice president of Model United Nations, the public affairs officer for NJROTC and a member of the National English Honor Society and Multicultural Club. On the weekends, you can find her at C.B. Smith Park, working at the Paradise Cove. When off the clock, she’s either hanging out with friends or spending time with her dogs. She aspires to go to college and adopt a dog during her stay there.
MAKINZI BURGS, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a junior, a member of Best Buddies and College and Career Transition Club and a cheerleader. As for the future, she wants to be part of the medical field, specifically in labor and delivery. In her free time she is probably shopping, cheering or taking photos.
JENNIFER FLORES, STAFF WRITER, is a junior who aspires to become a professional photojournalist. She plans to attend a college in New York and work for the New York Times. She enjoys everything Marvel related whether it be from comics or the cinematic universe. One of her favorite artists is Travis Scott and she hopes to one day attend one of his concerts. In her free time, she’s probably writing her own articles on things she’s passionate about or just recommending new music to friends.
KYLEIGH SPRIGLE, STAFF WRITER, is a senior, softball player and the service hour coordinator of Chess Club. She enjoys puppies, food and TikTok. She would like to formally apologize to the boys’ lacrosse team for that one article. She was just trying to make word count. Kyleigh is committed to Webber International University for softball.
VICTORIA MARTIN, STAFF WRITER, is a senior and color guard captain. She enjoys watching new TV series on Netflix. As for the future, she hopes to work as a crime scene investigator. She has a love for anything crime related and loves to listen to her favorite crime podcasts.
SYDNEY KATZ, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a sophomore and volleyball player. She loves to binge watch and eat food in her free time, after writing her weekly articles. In the future, she plans to work with children, specifically in the medical field.
ALYSSA KHAN, STAFF WRITER, is a junior, historian of Multicultural Club and member of Kids at Heart and Best Buddies. She enjoys playing and coaching basketball, running track and dancing. She especially enjoys spending time with her family. Her passion for kids is what encourages her to become a pediatrician.
