CCHS’s National Honor Society will be hosting a voter registration drive on Tuesday, March 18 under the red awning during all Social Studies classes.
Students who miss the opportunity during class may also register in the media center during lunch. In order to be eligible, students must be at least 16 years old, be citizens of the USA, and provide a Florida I.D. or know their Social Security Number. Once registered, students will receive their registration card in the mail on their 18th birthday.
NHS encourages everyone to come out and register because it is imperative students exercise their right to vote. A handful of students will be turning 18 before November 4 and will qualify to vote in the Florida 2014 General Election for governor, representatives, and senators. Some will also be able to participate in the 2016 Presidential Elections. Therefore, it is important every student makes sure they are prepared for when it comes time for the next election.
Cookies and stickers will be given to anyone who registers to vote and the Social Studies teacher who has the most students register will be awarded a $25 Visa Gift Card. Show your patriotism and come out. A Schedule is listed below:
