On Tuesday, November 1st, Homecoming week festivities were in full swing with a battle between all four classes for the title of Homecoming kickball champions.
“The gym always has a different energy during homecoming events, it was so much fun being with my class and watching everyone participate,” junior Hannah Riggott said. “It was a great way to get everyone hyped for Homecoming. I can’t wait for next year.”
Crazy Kickball is always the first of the many Homecoming after school events and CCHS leadership uses it to bring students together in the name of school spirit.
“Kickball was awesome,” senior class historian Heather Carpenter said, “I’ve never gone before and I was definitely happy that I had, it really brought the class together and everyone had such a good time. I’d have to say my favorite part was making it home and scoring for our class, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so loved.”
Kickball was set up into three rounds, two semi-final rounds, and a championship round. Starting off, the juniors played the freshmen and lost which secured the freshmen their spot in the final round. Next, the sophomores faced off against the seniors and lost in a close match in overtime. The championship round was won by the seniors against the freshmen.
“Crazy Kickball was my favorite event because it included the whole class and allowed for everyone to step up and do something,” freshman Trey Sweeney said. “ It was also a great game and we put up a good fight against the seniors. Although we lost, I had a great time and I’m definitely going back next year.”
Whatever the scores were, Crazy Kickball was a successful event for all who participated.
