The Lady Cowboys Softball team experienced both victory and defeat on Tuesday, March 21, and Friday, March 24. With the weekend following, the Lady Cowboys also played two more games on Saturday. In the end, the Cowboys ended up with a 2-2 record.
The first game of the week ended in success against McArthur High school. The final score was 10-0, but it took up until the third inning for the Cowboys to get things going, with the Mustangs holding them back as best as they could. It turned out to be a close game with four runs just in the third inning alone. The rest of the runs had been evenly distributed throughout the game, and to finish off strong, the Cowboys had three more runs in the last inning. Katy Thompson had a homerun and Kara Lokeinsky started as pitcher and only allowed four people to get on the bases throughout the entire game.
Unfortunately, the Cowboys lost to Palmetto Bay High School on Friday with a score of 2-4. It was an eventful game with no score for the first four innings. Lokeinsky went 3-4 and Kassandra Espinosa got a single and stole two bases.
On Saturday, the Lady Cowboys started out the day with a loss of 5-3. Jasmine Herrera pitched and went 2-3 at plate with triple. Kara Lokeinsky went 2-4 and she hit very well. The score represents the outcome, but not who necessarily controlled this game. Later on that day, the girls did not let the loss get to them ending the day with a mercy of 15-0. Everyone earned a spot on the field and proved themselves. It was a great end to the week, with senior night up ahead the following Monday.
