On Friday, March 17th, Cooper City Cowboys girls lacrosse came up against Martin County at home. Approaching playoffs Cooper looked to bag a win and use this game as a growing experience.
At the beginning of the game both teams came out fighting and shooting hard from the first faceoff. Martin shot first and scored the first couple goals gaining a solid lead. The Cowboys didn’t give up, Amanda Rivas scored 3 goals to tie the game. Martin County continued to score goals and the Cowboys had many flaws in their defense. Junior Florence also scored 3 goals but the game was far out of reach with the big lead Martin County had towards the end of the game.
Towards the end Cooper began to pick up their passing and get more chances on goal. The Cowboys capitalized 2 more times with goals from Crystal Williams. The final score was Martin County 17, Cooper City 8.
“Even though we lost, the score didn’t reflect how hard we played in the game.” Said Junior Kasey Allen.
