The NFL season continues to swiftly move by as week 7 has come and gone, leaving my fantasy team alone in first place at 7-0. Feels good to be number one. Here are the best and worst performances of week 7:
Best
- RB Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans: It has finally happened: Chris Johnson has done something good since his 2009 season where he had over 2000 yards rushing. It was bound to come at some time, and unfortunately for the Buffalo Bills, it came against them. Johnson racked up 195 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns, one of which was an 83 yard touchdown run. Is CJ2K finally back? We’ll have to wait and see.
- WR Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Vincent Jackson had a monster day against a weak Saints secondary. He had 216 yards receiving, setting a Tampa Bay franchise record, and 1 touchdown. Jackson also had a 95 yard completion where he was tackled at the one yard line, but if he had made it into the endzone, his stats would be even more ridiculous.
Worst
- RB Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens: Rice was bottled up by a good Texans defense for a total of 54 yards. It wasn’t all rice’s fault, though, as it was an absolute beat down in Houston, so the Ravens never even attempted to run the ball.
- WR A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals: Green was on his lowest setting of the year on Sunday night as the Steelers were double teaming him all night. He only had one catch all night, and even though it was a touchdown, you expect more from the #1 receiver in the NFL.
Bye weeks are in full effect right now and these weeks separate the fantasy contenders from the fantasy pretenders.
