This weekend marked the end of NFL week 6. Wow. Week 6! It’s amazing how fast the NFL season goes. You wait all year for football season to start, and then before you know it’s gone in the blink of an eye. With only 2/3 of the season left, this is no time to start slacking. Basically my entire Sunday consisted of waking up at noon, eating breakfast and watching the NFL RedZone channel until 8 o’clock. I can’t imagine having a better Sunday. Anyways, here are the best and worst performers of week 6.
Best:
- QB: Aaron Rodgers; Green Bay Packers: Let’s be honest, Aaron Rodgers just hasn’t been up to Aaron Rodgers standards this entire season, BUT that finally changed Sunday. Rodgers was very impressive against Houston defense, throwing for a career high 6 touchdown. Three of those touchdowns were caught by WR Jordy Nelson, who also had a pretty good day.
- RB: Shonn Greene; New York Jets: As much as I hate the Jets, I’ve never seen Shonn Greene play better than he did on Sunday. He gashed Indianapolis for 161 yards on the ground and 3 touchdowns! Nice numbers.
Worst:
- RB: Marshawn Lynch; Seattle Seahawks: Lynch has yet to unleash his inner beast this season, and it certainly didn’t free it against the Patriots this past Sunday. He only had 52 total scrimmage yards, which was his season low. While ,the Patriots do have one of the best run defenses in the NFL, Marshawn Lynch is supposed to be one of the leagues superstars. I’m sorry , but 5 fantasy points just isn’t cutting it.
- RB: Steven Ridley; New England Patriots: Ridley was coming off of 2 games with at least 100 yards and a touchdown. He seemed like he was red hot and could not be stopped, right? Wrong. Even Danny Woodhead started getting more carries than Ridley because Ridley wasn’t producing.
Big news for Ravens D/ST owners: In addition to Tarrell Suggs being out for the year, Linebacker Ray Lewis is out for the year as is Cornerback Ladarius Webb. The Ravens D couldn’t stop the run before as it was, and now they are without their heart and soul in Ray Lewis. I’d try to stay clear of this unit for the rest of the year.
