On Wednesday, December 8th, the Cooper City High School girls varsity soccer team once again put on a desolating performance against the McArthur Mustangs. The Cowboys won the game with a final score 8-0.
The Cowboys started off the game extremely strong, pressuring McArthur with great force in the first quarter. This did not allow the Mustangs to pass the Cowboys half, and created various chances for goals which were converted by players such as Kimberly Slinkosky, who scored two goals, and Vikki Ramos.
After the first water break, the Cowboys continued to dominate defensively. Great passes and nice ball movement throughout the first half, resulted in goals from Olivia Lewis and Leslie Deleon.
Going into the second half, the mindset of the Cowboys saw no changes. They dominated the possession of the ball and played smart overall. More goals were obtained before the second water break, as Olivia Lewis and Samantha Stofsky increased the lead. After the water break, the fourth quarter began, and the Cowboys squeaked in one more goal by Sarah Molina before the refs called the game. The Cowboys ended up mercy ruling the Mustangs. FINAL SCORE: Cowboys 8, Mustangs 0.
