Boys Lacrosse: Cowboys Beat McCarthy And Lose To Cypress Bay

On Wednesday, February 22nd the Cooper City boys lacrosse team took on Archbishop McCarthy at home in the season opener.
The boys were ready to start the season. The first half started off in the Cowboys favor, after various plays and ground balls, senior Donny Devito stepped up and made two goals for the Cowboys. Making the score 2-0 by half time.
In the second half the Mavericks stepped their game up, challenging the Cowboys. Senior Vinny D’Abbraccio didn’t feel threatened by the surging Mavericks, sneaking past their defense twice for goals. The game ended in a Cowboy win with a final score of 5-3.
In the following game on Monday, February 27th the boys took on Cypress Bay in an away game.
The game didn’t start off in the Cowboys favor. Yet the defense still stood strong and put up a fight. With key goals made by seniors Donald Devito and Brandon Perlman the half came to a close with a score of 4-2, Lightening in the lead.
In the second half the Cowboys made a comeback, blocking most of the shots made by the Lightning. Seniors Matt Margol and Hunter Wild both made goals but it was enough. The game ended in a 6-5 loss for the Cowboys.
