On select early release day throughout the rest of the 2016/2017 school year, Tikiz Shaved Ice and Ice Cream truck will be selling desserts after school in the courtyard.
“I think this is a great fundraiser because it’s so hot outside after school and it’s nice to get a pretty cheap treat to cool down with,” junior Katie Smith said.
The definite dates for the event include: March 3rd at 11:30, March 23rd at 12:30 and April 6th at 11:30. But more dates are expected to be added if the event is successful. Prices for the treats will vary from $3 to $5 dollars and the truck will be located near the cafeteria. CCHS will be making 20% of all the proceeds made from the event. If successful, PTSA plans to carry on this fundraiser in the 2017/2018 school year.
“I am very excited for the shaved ice trucks tomorrow because it brings something new to the school,” junior Hannah Riggott said.
PTSA plans to host this fundraiser to further improve Cooper City High and give back to the community. In the past, PTSA has purchased the trophy case in the front office, nooks for the reading department, tripods for the TV production program, easels for art, planners for 9th graders, and much more. With the addition of this new fundraiser, CCHS PTSA hopes they will be able to further enhance the overall experience for students.
“If it works out well, we will continue it for next year. ESE Support Facilitator, Heidi Dermer said. “Then students will just know that on an early dismissal days Tikiz treats will be available for purchase.”
