A major milestone was reached by the Cowboys, as they made their first playoff game in a long time facing Hollywood Hills High School. This historic game took place February 6, in a neutral setting at McArthur High school, as both teams wanted to move on to give themselves a chance to win the District Championship.

From the start of the game, you could feel a sense of urgency from both teams. The Cowboys passed, attacked, and defended well from the beginning. It was evenly matched as both teams exchanged baskets and amped up the crowd. The second quarter was much like the first, as the game stayed close, with a low score of 26-26.

The second half of the game began to change when the Cowboys took control offensively and defensively. The whole second half, the Cowboys kept a lead and never let up, no matter how tired the players got. Hollywood Hills tried to make a push in the fourth quarter, but failed as the Cowboys’ defense overwhelmed them. In the end, the Cowboys rose above all expectations and gained their first playoff win in years, with a score of 54-48.

In past years, Cooper City struggled to gain a single win for the season, and now they have overcame challenges faced to them this year. Now they have a chance to compete in the District Semi-Finals against McArthur High School.
