On Monday, December 12th, the Cooper City boys varsity soccer team faced off against the Miramar Patriots. The Cowboys won their fourth district game of the season with a score of 6-0.
The Cowboys started off strong right from the whistle. Senior Lucas Cusnir scored the first goal of the game, putting the Cowboys in the lead. They continued to attack the goal and ended up scoring again, this time by Junior Mateo Upegui. The Cowboys didn’t let the Patriots past their half, and continued to move the ball around the field. Cooper City then attacked the goal once again, and Junior Greg Satinover scored the third goal of the game. “I think I’m finally getting my rhythm back,” Satinover said about his goal.
After the first water break, the boys came out with the same intensity as they did in the first quarter. The boys continued to pressure the Patriots, constantly stripping the ball away from them. The Cowboys had chances to score goals, but were unsuccessful. The half ended with a score of 3-0.
Cooper City came out dominating in the second half. The boys knocked the ball around Miramar’s defense, making them look like statues. The Cowboys continued to pressure the Patriots. Jacob Martin had a perfect shot at the goal, making the score 4-0. The Cowboys were determined to put more balls into the back of the net.
The Cowboys were extremely persistent and were making great passes to each other. Senior Alonso Mendoza took a long shot and it soared over the goalie’s head, making the score 5-0. The Patriots didn’t have a chance over the Cowboys. As the game was coming close to an end, Junior Adolfo Bolanos scored the final goal of the game, making the score 6-0.
The Cowboys walked off the field extremely proud of each other and with smiles on their faces.
Final Score: Cooper City 6, Miramar 0
