On Monday, December 5th, the Cooper City Cowboys faced off against the South Broward Bulldogs. The Cowboys gave it their all, but lost 0-5.
The Cowboys started off strong the first quarter, and moved the ball up the field. The Cowboys had a couple of chances, but could not score off of any of them. The Bulldogs started to challenge the Cooper City defense, and eventually scored a goal. The Cowboys were 0-1 by the first water break.
The Cowboys came out slow in the second quarter, and the Bulldogs caught them off guard. South Broward scored quickly to make the score 0-2. The Cowboys attempted to move the ball up the field but were unsuccessful, giving the Bulldogs possession of the ball. South Broward began to dominate, and scored two more goals before the half ended, making the score 0-4.
In the third quarter, the Cowboys came out extremely strong and fought hard to score goals. The Bulldogs had no chances on goal, and started to become unorganized in the back. Cooper City gave their all in this quarter, but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
In the last quarter of the game, the Cowboys began to give up, unable to keep up with the Bulldogs. South Broward found holes through the Cowboys defense and scored another goal, making the score 0-5. The Cowboys didn’t let any other balls through, but were unable to score any of their own. “The team as a whole needs to work on their chemistry,” junior Greg Satinover said. The Cowboys walked off their fields with their heads high despite the loss.
Final Score: Cowboys 0, South Broward 5
