After months of rehearsal and lots hard work, the CCHS Choral program showed off their truly harmonious talent in their first Chorus-only Winter Concert on Thursday, December 1.
“We are very excited to be doing this,” Chorus Director Anna Lotocky said. “I am very proud of the students.”
In years previous, chorus and band have held their winter performances together in one concert but this year chorus was able to perform on a night just for them. They will still perform with the band on the 16th of December but the chorus was very excited and honored to have their own night for the first time in many years.

The show consisted of performances from the Beginning Chorus, the Advanced Chorus, and a mixed performance from both of the two groups together. The two chorus have been preparing for this show, rehearsing every day in class for the past two months. They have worked collectively to put on the best show possible and hope to work even harder for even more improvement.
“I feel the show went great,” Advanced Chorus member MaryGrace Adamson said. “The Beginning Chorus showed considerable effort and improvement last night.”
Most of the Advanced Chorus joined the program when Ms. Lotocky took over three years ago. Ms. Lotocky has made chorus a main focus and has improved the program so much, as seen with their first solo concert in many years.
“To think of how we performed then is immeasurably different than now,” said Adamson. “She is honestly the only person I could credit for our success”
In an effort to raise funds for their program, several moms of chorus members donated baked goods and gift baskets. The baked goods were sold before the show for a dollar each. The gift baskets were auctioned off to the crowd. Tickets for the auction were one dollar each or six for five dollars. The money raised at the concert will go towards the programs upcoming performances like their quickly approaching show at Disney World later in December.
“I am excited to go to Disney with Cooper’s chorus,” Advanced Chorus member Hunter Keyser said. “It’s just the most memorable thing you can ever experience and it’s gonna be cool to witness my friends having that experience for the first time. I’m looking forward to being able to experience this again with this school.”
Making great strides in their musical journey, Cooper City High’s Choral program has shown their talent at their Winter Concert and are ready to put it on display again at Disney.
