Review: It’s Kind Of A Funny Story

If you want to see a cute, heart-filled, dorky movie about finding meaning to life and realizing what you have, then It’s Kind of a Funny Story is the movie for to see.

It’s about 16 year old Craig, played by Keir Glichrist, who enters himself into an mental health ward due to his suicidal thoughts, never imagining how it will change his life. In the ward he creates special bonds with Bobby (Zach Galifianakis) and Noelle (Emma Roberts), two other patients struggling with their own life problems. Bobby and Noelle give Craig a more positive outlook on life and show him how much he has.

It’s Kind of a Funny Story is a relatable movie to people of all ages. It displays the stages of doubt and uncertainty that we all go through and that the best way to get through life is to just live happy and not let the stress get to you.

The performances of Keir Gilchrist and Zach Galifianakis are incredible.  Their characters explain why life is something to be cherished and never taken for granted.

With its comedic lines and cute romance story the movie keeps you laughing and smiling the whole time.  Like when Craig and Noelle were playing the question game while sitting on the bench in the hallway of the institution.  The awkwardness of their situation made it a hilarious and flirty scene between the two teens.

Only in the end do we see the whole picture when Craig realizes he has great friends and family and really doesn’t despise his life as much as he once thought.

Directors-screenwriters Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have put together a fun-loving and inspiring film that is a must see.
