In Ms. Sharp’s AP Art class, art kids like me get a chance to explore and perfect their individual painting, drawing, or photography styles. As Mrs. Sharp puts it, we have to produce one “Masterpiece” per week to complete our AP portfolio of 24 pieces. The first twelve pieces in our portfolio are the “Breadth” section. These works illustrate our experimentation and exploration with different media. The last section called the “Concentration” and it includes twelve pieces following a certain theme or concentration. The artwork above is part of my Concentration, which follows the theme, The Power of Words. The piece is entitled “Pulling Teeth,” and attempts to portray how you sometimes have to be careful with what you say because of the consequences it may hold.
