It’s been seven years since the Cooper City Cowboys beat their rivals at Western High School in the annual Hog Bowl, but on Friday October, 14th the Cowboys made sure the streak was erased.
In a rather low scoring affair, it was the Cowboys defense that lead the way to the win. With interceptions, fumble recoveries, and a pair of blocked kicks, the Cowboys gave Western almost no chance to score. Linebacker Tyson Burch had a great game recording an interception and fumble recovery.
Senior running backs Camden Krohn and Justin Ingram each had big days carrying the ball for CCHS combining for around 180 of the teams total yards including two touchdowns.
After senior James Zawoyski converted on a 40 yard field goal, any chance Western had at winning seemed over. The score CCHS 17, Western 6.
This was the Cowboys final home game of the season, they square off against South Broward next Friday for the first of four away games to close out the season.
