This past summer, while on vacation in Italy, I stopped at one of the most beautiful and colorful places I’ve ever seen. People from all around the world go to the island of Burano, Italy, to witness the beautiful vibrant houses it’s famous for. Contrary to popular belief, these houses weren’t painted in brilliant, intense hues for the amusement of tourists. The island is known to get exceedingly foggy, especially during the fall season, and the houses needed to be painted lively colors in order for the many fishermen, who call Burano home, to find their way back.
