The Cooper City Cowboys took to the field on Friday, September 10th, looking to beat the West Broward Bobcats and keep their hopes of an undefeated season alive.
It took no time for the Cowboys to find the end zone, scoring quickly off a quarterback scramble by junior Lemond Johnson with 8 minutes left in the quarter. After some good defensive work by the Cowboys, including an impressive chase down tackle from senior Camden Krohn, Johnson found himself in the end zone again, after another quarterback run, with the score 14-0 still in the first period. Senior Jessie Mims also scored a receiving touchdown with 30 seconds left in the first quarter and the Cowboys lead 21-0.
However, the scoring didn’t stop there. Krohn scored on a short run with 4 minutes left in the first half, and the Cowboys were in the lead 28-0. The Cowboy’s defense looked solid throughout, as they held the Bobcats to 0 points, recording their first shut out of the season.
In the second half, the fireworks continued for the Cowboys, who, when it was all said and done, defeated the West Broward Bobcats 47-0.
The Cowboys look to improve to 3-0 this Friday September 16th, when they take on Monarch High School in their first away game of the season.
