NICOLE NADLER, MANAGING EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a senior who loves getting involved. She is NEHS Vice-President and President of the Current Events Club. Outside of school you can often find her at Cali Coffee or working as the host of her own global podcast. Nicole dreams of being a Political Analyst or a Chief of Staff and often has passions attributing to that cause. She enjoys finding new coffee shops and furthering her taste palette for cheesecake.
EMILY MORENO, PRINT EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a junior who joined The Lariat her sophomore year and is ready to start her first year as an editor-in-chief. Apart from school, Emily dances as part of the senior company at Academy of Arts and studies all styles of dance. In addition to dancing there, she works at their front desk and as a substitute teacher. She also interns at her church and loves being involved in school. Emily loves spending time with her family, watching Wes Anderson movies, and collecting records. She looks forward to another great year with the Lariat.
ORIAN TZIPORA-HAROSH, CO ONLINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is an overachieving junior who willingly took AP Chemistry as her science class of choice last year. This year she decided to go absolutely insane and take 5 AP classes to really get that academic validation. This is her second year in The Lariat. With many passions, crystal collecting is one of her main hobbies when not in school. She can many times be found with her head in a book or listening to Chase Atlantic, her favorite band. She loves spending time at the beach or pool but hates being outside in nature.In the future, Orian aspires to have a job in the medical field or relating to law.
OLIVIA GIL, CO ONLINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, is a wide eyed senior with a passion for fashion, film, music, art and literature. When not writing for The Lariat, Gil can be found raving about one (or all) of the items above. This self-proclaimed “culture connoisseur” joined The Lariat staff to support her love for writing and hopes to pursue a career in journalism. If she can make it through her final year of high school of course.
JENNA HEDRICK, HEAD EDITOR/STAFF RELATIONS, is a junior who loves to socialize. Jenna is ecstatic as she moves into her second year on The Lariat. She is also a peer counselor and a member of the First Priority Club at CCHS. When not writing for the paper, you may catch her on the singing team at her church, hanging out with friends or playing beach volleyball. Jenna has a passion for fashion and takes every chance she gets to get new clothes. Jenna also has a collection of all different kinds of bracelets.
ASHLYN COHEN, EDITORIAL ASSISTANT, is a junior experiencing her second year on The Lariat Staff. She loves attending the gym and having Bahia Bowls after school. In Ashlyn’s spare time you may catch her training or on facetime with her friend. Ashlyn plays defense for the Girls Academy soccer team, Florida United. She is the public relations leader for the National English Honors Society and plans to play college soccer in her future.
SHIRA AROSHAS, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a senior and also adores reading books, playing piano,and painting. Photography has always been dear to her heart and she’s beyond grateful to be sharing her art with the school.
MELISSA SAROSI, PHOTOGRAPHER, is a senior at Cooper City High School. Melissa is outgoing and always down for a fun time. While being fun she can also balance being responsible, organized, and stable. Fun fact about Melissa is that she hates brownies and cookies, pretty weird right? In her free time she is usually with friends or taking a nap. She loves taking pictures for the lariat because she gets to meet new people and go to new places.
MILANA FIGUEROA, STAFF WRITER, is currently a junior. She plays soccer for cooper and dances. Milana has been a dancer and soccer player since she was 4 years old. Milana was a dance teacher for a little bit, she really enjoyed teaching young kids and inspiring them. Milana also enjoys writing and taking pictures. One day Milana wants to become a journalist and a photographer in the future.
AMBER HARGADON, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore at CCHS. They are Vice President of the SSIC club and a new staff member of the Lariat. They broke their foot dancing the Cha Cha Slide, and are still faster walking than most students even on crutches. They enjoy expressing themselves through art and photography for fun. Some of their many hobbies include playing softball, painting, and writing poetry. They work hard and hope to grow many of their current skills.
MELANIE TAMAYO, STAFF WRITER, is currently a sophomore at CCHS. She’s a first-generation Colombian. It is currently her first year being a writer for The Lariat. She wants to be a Medical Lawyer when she grows up. Her favorite movie is “10 Things I hate about you”.
NICO NARDIELLO, STAFF WRITER, is a senior who loves knowing the inner details of complex issues. He has been a writer for years and has covered several complicated issues on and around campuses. Outside of school you can find him at the gym, playing video games, or in church. Nico wants to be an actor or an entertainer and has passions of being in front of a camera. He enjoys movies that invoke thinking, strategy games, and eating anywhere he can find.
RACHEL MIZRAHI, STAFF WRITER, is a junior who watches every high school romance tv show on Netflix. She has many hobbies, which include reading and fashion, and has willingly taken 4 AP classes at once. Mizrahi’s ambition is in law and politics, but loves writing as well. Some of her many addictions are iced coffee, constantly spending money, and scrolling on tiktok. You will most likely always see a book in her bag or purse, as she can’t leave the house without one. If you want to find her, just go to Dunkin’ or Barnes and nobles.
ALIA SALIM, STAFF WRITER, is currently a junior and this is her first year in lariat as a writer. Her main interests are reading and listening to music. She has 3 board positions out of the four clubs that she is a part of. She’s the vice president of environmental club, project manager for book club, event coordinator for RHO KAPPA (Social studies honor society) and is a member of key club. She’s bilingual and her second language is Arabic. One weird thing that she likes to do with Arabic to mess with people is to add small words in her sentences while she speaks english.
MELINA LUGO, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore and this is her first year on the Lariat Staff. She is a major theater kid and coaches middle school discus and shotput. Safe to say they are hopeless. Cute, but hopeless. She hopes to grow as a writer and a person. She hopes for this to be a great year.
LONDON DERNIS, HEAD EDITOR, is a sophomore who loves reading and writing. This is her first year in The Lariat, and she is very excited to write articles and meet new people. Outside of school, London spends her time browsing the bookshelves at Barnes and Noble or enjoying a bowl of tomato bisque at The Cheese Course. She is academically driven and hopes to pursue a career in anything English-related. Her favorite movies of all time are the Maze Runner movies and she claims it is not an obsession, even if it may appear to be.
ESTHER WEISSMARK, GENERAL EDITOR, is a junior participating in her first year with The Lariat Staff. When not in school, she can be found shopping at the mall or spending time hanging out with friends and family. She loves traveling and days at both the pool and beach. She also enjoys watching movies and shows as well as listening to music. Esther’s favorite subject in school is math, and she plans to study and pursue a career in architectural engineering. She is looking forward to a great school year as a part of The Lariat Staff.
HAYLEE WINEBERNER, STAFF WRITER, is a sophomore and is new to the Lariat this year. When she isn’t on school grounds, Haylee can be found at home catching on missed hours of sleep or at the nearest Goodwill to fill up her overly full closet. She is a big music enthusiast and always tries to attend local concerts, and is even willing to travel out of state just to see a band she loves to probably an unhealthy extent. You can also find her nose-deep in a book most likely about true crime or horror. Haylee also draws and plays the bass during her free time, and wishes to pursue a career in psychology in the future.
DEVIN ALDERMAN, STAFF WRITER, is currently a junior and will be participating in her first year with the Lariat Staff. Aside from the Lariat, she is a member of CTV, NEHS, and NHS. When not in school, Devin can often be found shopping at the mall with friends as she loves to make unnecessary purchases. She’s obsessed with her bed which is where she spends most of her time after school napping or doing homework. Devin has a love for North Carolina as she spends every summer up in the mountains with her family and hopes to attend college here.
ABBY GOLDBERG, GENERAL EDITOR, is a sophomore who just joined The Lariat. In her free time, she enjoys piña coladas and long walks on the beach; However, Abby can typically be found at theater rehearsals. She hopes to someday marry Tom Holland or at the very least attend his wedding with Zendaya. She is so excited for her first year with The Lariat and can’t wait to get started!
HADAR KOL, STAFF WRITER, is a junior and the corresponding secretary of the Jewish Student Union. In her free time you will find Kol reading a book, watching period dramas, drawing or listening to music. This is Kol’s first year on the Lariat staff, but she already has previous expirience from the course journalism 1. She is also a part of the multicultural club, key club, and the book club. Kol is highly indecisive, and changes her career goal every week.You will find her taking interest in the weirdest things all of a sudden, like crocheting for example.
MALIA LAHEY, STAFF WRITER, is a junior, and this is her second year on The Lariat. Lahey is a staff writer and in addition to the Lariat she also fills her schedule with extracurriculars. Lahey plays on the school varsity Soccer team and the Flag Football team. She enjoys listening to music and going to the beach. She was in Journalism 1 and loves to write sports articles.
VINCENT ANTONELLI, STAFF WRITER is a Sophomore at CCHS. This his first year at The Lariat he has some prior experience in journalism from his journalism 1 class last year. He is of peruvian and Italian descent.He enjoys playing the guitar, bass and piano as well as skating, fashion, reading and cooking. After school you can find him at the gym, Working at UPS or around town with friends. He aspires to at least have a career in law, psychology, or piloting.
