On Thursday, March 24, 2011 CCHS’s NJROTC held their first annual Battle of the Teachers to raise money for their program.

The event gave teachers the opportunity to unleash their competitive sides and battle it out amongst each other through a variety of skill contests and games.

The teachers were divided into four teams: The Coast Guard, The Air Force, The Army, and The Marines which represented all grade levels.

“All the teachers performed above my expectations,” NJROTC teacher James Sloane said. “It was great seeing all their students that came out to support them as they worked together and brought out their competitive juices.”

The big night started off with the “Izzy Dizzy,” a zany relay race that all of the teachers participated in. Six events followed, including activities such as a pugil stick battle and tug- of- war.

Although all of the teams performed to the best of their ability, the Marines dominated the competition and were named the Battle of the Teacher Champions.

“I had a lot of fun and was great to see NJROTC benefit from the event,” winning team member Mr. Hrabak said.

Overall, the event was a complete success for both the NJROTC program and CCHS’s teachers, raising around $1300 for the program.
