CCHS swimming blows the competition out of the water

The CCHS boys and girls swimming teams had a complete blowout for their last home meet on Wednesday, October 10. The Lady Cowboys swam against Western High School, beating them with a total score of 130-50. Then, they also defeated Everglades High School 138-32. The boys team beat Western 123-61, and then went on to beat Everglades 131-42.
CCHS won almost every single event they swam in. The swim teams practice constantly because the Cowboys have a defending title to maintain of district and regional champions for girls and district champions for the boys.
This year, on the girls and boys teams there is a coincidence that most might not recognize. Girls captain Kathleen Golding and boys captain Brandon Schleicher both have their younger siblings on the teams with them. Kathleen Golding and Brandon Schleicher each have sisters, Molly Golding and Mallory Schleicher, on the teams. Kathleen Golding won the 100-meter butterfly stroke race, Molly Golding won the 100-meter breaststroke and Mallory Schleicher won the 200-meter freestyle.
“Everyone swam really well and it was a good way [to] end our last home meet of the season. Cooper won almost every event,” Captain Kathleen Golding said. “Everyone has been working really hard at practice every day to prepare for districts, regionals and states.”
This was a good way to wrap up the season for the Cowboys as a whole, ending the season on a good note. Cooper City is entering districts by letting other teams know that they are a force to be reckoned with.
