The Cooper City High School girls’ volleyball team played in their home gym for the last time this season on Wednesday, October 20 against the Miramar Mustangs. The Cowboys beat the Mustangs in three straight games with final scores of 25-6, 25-16, and 25-12.

In the first game the Mustangs didn’t even get a chance to completely go through their rotation, and the Cowboys defeated them with a score of 25-6.

The Cowboys prevailed and won the second game 25-16.

In the final game the Cowboy seniors got their chance to play together on their home court one final time and won the game 25-12.

Four graduating players, Adee Okavat, Jennifer Molina, Shelby Nix, and Beca Fingles played their last home game and were honored as part of senior night. Senior Night is a cherished tradition at CCHS, where senior athletes are honored at their last home game of the season. The seniors on both the home team and the visiting Mustangs were recognized.

Outstanding players of this game for the Cowboys were the four seniors. Okavat had one kill, Fingles had a number of digs, Molina had service points, one ace, and four kills, and Nix, the varsity captain, led the team with a record 31 service points, 12 aces, and 11 assists. As far as the underclassman, Alex Kerbel’s jump serves earned her 10 service points and 9 aces, as well as two kills.
