The Cowboys looked to build off their momentum from last week and continue their winning ways. All 3 games this week were against non-district opponents, and the first being at home against the Deerfield beach High Bucks on April 3, 2017. This was the first of a back to back which were also at home and important to win.

Coming off hard fought wins last week, the Cowboys wanted to keep that going and have a fast start. They were able to get to runs in the first inning but had allowed a run to Deerfield, but their offense had gotten what they wanted to begin this game. In the second inning the Cowboys and the Deerfield High Bucks both put a run on the board and the game started to get interesting heading in to the 3rd. In the 3rd inning Deerfield beach High came out with the lone run to tie the game up at 3-3.

In the 4th and 5th inning the Cowboys stayed tied with Deerfield High both gaining two runs and it looked as if the game would head into extra innings. But the Cowboys changed that with two spectacular runs in the sixth inning and shut out Deerfield Beach High for the rest of the game. This allowed the Cowboys to get a win of 7-5 and prepare for their game the next day.

The second of a back to back, as the Cowboys face off against Hallandale High Chargers on April 4, 2017 at home. Though it wasn’t a district game, it was still an important game to win, to increase confidence and play for the rest of the season.

To start off, got off to great start on both ends, and though they couldn’t score in the opening inning, they were able to get 3 runs in the 2nd and begin what would turn out to be a fantastic game for them. In the third inning the Cowboys added another run and put them in a comfortable 4-0 lead heading into the 4th inning. In the 4th innings the game was looking to favor the Cowboys more heavily than Hallandale High, as they blasted through with 4 more runs and took a commanding 8-0 lead.

Hallandale was able to hold off the Cowboys in the 5th inning, and gained their first run of the game in the 6th inning. Though Hallandale High were able to score, the Cowboys put away Hallandale for good by adding 2 more runs in the 6th inning which ended the game early. The Cowboys went on to win 10-1, and then prepared for their game that was 2 days later.

The final game of a busy week was against the South Broward Bulldogs on April 6, 2017. This was the first away game for the Cowboys this week and tough one at that, as South Broward were above .500 and playing well at this time.

In the first inning neither team had the upper hand as it was scoreless. Even though neither team could score, both had some nice hits at bat, and tried to build this going into the second. The Cowboys were able to gain 3 runs in this inning and get the start they were looking for. But this proved to not be enough to keep South Broward quiet and out of the game, as they had an amazing 3rd inning with 6 runs going up 6-3 heading to the 4th.

The 4th inning stayed towards South Broward’s favor as they added two more runs as they tried to stay in command of the game. In the 5th inning the Cowboys looked to comeback and score a few runs but as they did that, South Broward High matched them scoring three themselves. In the 6th inning both scored a single run and was difficult for the Cowboys, as they took their first lost of the week, but was hopeful to continue their success from earlier in the week for future games.
