BY RACHEL HAAS

With a total of 15 Grammy’s and over 40 million album sales worldwide, she’s proven herself to be one of the most popular R&B artists of all time. On her new album Keys incorporates a new pop style and proves to be able to create not only R&B hits but pop ones too. Key’s new album is inspirational as well as relatable and I can’t seem to stop listening.

Keys describes “a girl on fire” to be someone that is completely themselves. The CD sends positives messages to never feel like you’re not good enough because of what others say. Keys sings about what she is feeling in the moment, which shows what an independent and soulful women she is. Her voice is so powerful and strong that you feel like she’s belting the song with you.”She’s got her head in the clouds, and she’s not backing down.” With lyrics like these you’re bound to get lost in the music. Her new sauciness and attitude runs through your veins and invigorates you to pursue your dreams.

Getting lost in her music, her compelling voice is bound to win you over. With songs coming straight from her heart, she shares her personal journeys that have made her the artist she is today. All thirteen of her songs are relatable to people of all ages including the singles, “Tears Always Win” and “Listen to your heart”. With copies flying off the shelves, and downloads processing by the minute she’s “living in a world, and it’s on fire.”

Alicia Keys has made amazing strives not only as an artist but also as a person. She has remained a strong role model and will stay around for a long time. On her fifth album down she’s only halfway through her career and has kept me wanting to hear more of her inspiring music.
