One of the many jokes cracked in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” that has resonated with its viewers is its reference to bundt cakes, something that instantly comes to mind when entering  Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery in the Pembroke Crossings shopping center. But surprisingly enough, the bakery preceded the movie.

Founded in 1992, Nothing Bundt Cakes is the creation of Debra Shwetz and Dena Tripp in their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. The bakery has grown considerably over the years and now has locations all across the country. For many, it is a surprise to hear that the bakery is a franchise as the small shop gives off a homey mom and pop feel.

The bakery itself is a delight to walk into. Its simplistic design with purple accents, aesthetically pleasing packaging and decorations only add to the pleasure of purchasing their cakes. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, happy to answer questions and help customers.

Customers have the option of choosing between six sizes of bundt cakes; all of which are topped with their signature butter cream cheese frosting in petal-like shapes, though shoppers can request “drizzle” frosting for a lighter topping of frosting. All of the cakes available for sale hold the same consistency. Each cake is perfectly moist and crumbly, just enough to break apart in the mouth without making cutting into a slice difficult. Nothing Bundt Cakes also features a variety of flavors to appeal to all cake lovers and offers samples of each flavor daily.

The “Classic Vanilla” holds true to its name. The classic flavor is enhanced with their signature butter cream cheese frosting. The usually bland flavor is anything but in this moist cake.

The “Lemon” bundt cake is delectable and its citrus smell cuts through the air and invades the senses as soon as the package is opened. Once in the mouth of the consumer, the lemon flavor comes through, but is not overpowering on the taste buds.

The “Marble” bundt cake is a swirl of vanilla and chocolate cake. Splendidly blended, the combination is complimented with the bakery’s signature frosting.

The “Confetti” cake on the outside may seem like a colorful version of vanilla, but once a bite is taken the distinctly different taste is revealed. The cake is extremely sweet, almost similar to cotton candy one can buy at a carnival. This cake is every sweet tooth’s dream, but may not sit well with those who are bothered by a sugar rush.

Another fan favorite cake is the “Chocolate Chocolate Chip.” Unlike many chocolate cakes that are so rich that ice cream is needed to cut the flavor, the chocolate in this cake is set in a superb ratio of the frosting topping it. The flavor is deep enough to stay on the tongue without being too rich.

Perhaps the most unique flavor on the menu is the “White Chocolate Raspberry” bundt cake. A white chocolate vanilla batter infused with swirls of raspberry, this cake is for consumers with a more refined palate. The flavor is extremely light, a good thing because any more of it would be too much for each bite. Every mouthful guarantees a delightful combination of raspberry and white chocolate.

All in all, Nothing Bundt Cakes has made a lasting impression on all of its customers. From its quaint shop to its delectable cakes, it will leave everyone wanting more.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is a marvelous shop that offers delicious cakes perfect for all consumers.
