“Marvel Universe Live!”: South Florida is in for a Marvel-ous show

These past few weekdays, the BB&T Center was packed with Marvel fans for the one-and-only “Marvel Universe Live!” action performance. Marvel has brought more than 25 characters to life in an out-of-this-world performance of stunts and special effects. With the villains coming through, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy must join forces to defeat evil.

The superheroes link together in a race to recover the “Wand of Watoomb” before it can fall into the hands of Thor’s wicked brother, Loki.

The Wand of Watoomb is an ancient artifact that holds immeasurable mystical power and would allow Loki to achieve his life-long goal of crowning himself ruler of both Asgard and Earth.

This all-new adventure recruits some of Marvel’s greatest superheroes to ever exist such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Hulk, The Wasp and Black Widow against the most threatening villains in Marvel history such as Loki, Nebula, Yondu, Green Goblin, Electro, Rhino and Black Cat.

All of the actors were on point when it came to portraying their characters. Their costumes were almost identical to the movie adaptations of the characters, and the colors and adornments on the costumes demonstrated how no details could be left out. All of the voice actors voices’ resembled the ones in the movies, from the low and strong voice of the Hulk, to the high-pitched voice of Rocket Raccoon. The dynamic athleticism and skills that the cast possessed allowed the superhero powers of the Marvel characters to come to life.

The stage was relatively large, allowing a lot of space for the superheroes to run around and perform their unbelievable stunts. In addition, the stage was enhanced with fully lit projections that set the location— Antarctica, Asia, the Avengers Tower and so on.

Another true highlight of the “Marvel Universe Live!” show was the choreography. Throughout the entire show, the actors’ performances were absolutely free of mistakes. All the characters knew precisely what movements to perform throughout the show.

A very important feature of the show was the special effects and music tracks used. The special effects were the epitome of epic, with fire and loud sounds. The audience was fully engaged every minute of the show. The music that was used really set the mood and tone of the show. However, the audio could’ve been improved because at some points it was too loud for the audience to hear the characters’ conversations.

The talented superhuman cast left the audience absolutely amazed. With incredible, jaw-dropping stunts, the powers of the remarkable Marvel superheroes were showcased right before the audience’s eyes. At the end of the day, the “Marvel Universe Live!” action show leaves the audience knowing that the state of being united and having a positive attitude does make a huge impact.
