On Wednesday, November 30th, the Cowboys girls soccer team went back at it with an outstanding performance against the Flanagan Falcons. This was a good opponent for the Cowboys, but the Cowboys showed that they were the superior team in the end, winning 5-1.

Before the first water break, the Cowboys started out really strong, pressuring Flanagan the whole time. There was a foul called on the Cowboys right outside the 18-yard box. This gave Flanagan a great opportunity for a free kick, as they took advantage by scoring, making the score 0-1.

The Cowboys continued to pressure in the first half and were able to tie up the game quick with a goal from Junior Vikki Ramos off a Dominique Perron assist. The Cowboys weren’t done yet in the first half, as they kept attacking, resulting in two more goals, one by Ramos and another by Kimberly Slinkosky. This put the Cowboys up with a substantial lead at half of 3-1.

In the second half, the Cowboys played phenomenal defense, not allowing a goal to Flanagan. As that happened, the offense kept flowing and Ramos got her third goal of the game, assisted by Jemma Miller to make it a hat trick for Ramos. Miller, to go along with the assist in the second half, was able to get a goal and help the Cowboys capture another win of 5-1, as they look forward to continue playing well in the season.

Final score: 5-1.
