On Monday, November 14th, the Lady Cowboys went up against one of the top soccer teams in the state of Florida. The Cowboys played the Saint Thomas Aquinas Raiders in a non-district game.

Saint Thomas came out of the gates hot, proving why they are one of the best teams in the state. The Cowboys simply could not keep up with the Raiders, as they quickly went down 5-0 in the first half.

CCHS’s defense was determined to make up for their poor first half performance, coming out strong in the second half. However, the STA offense was too powerful, capping off another 2 goals. Throughout the game the Cowboys offense couldn’t capitalize due to the dominating defense played by the Raiders. The Cowboys never managed to score, closing the game with a score of 7-0.

Although the Cowboys lost significantly, they never gave up, and were determined to not get mercy ruled.

FINAL SCORE: Cowboys 0, Raiders 7
