College is seen as an increasingly necessary second step for many students after graduating high school. High schools have responded accordingly by hosting college fairs and programs for students, and CCHS is no exception.

The school will be hosting the annual College and Career Fair on February 13 in the school’s cafeteria, along with separate seminars in some classrooms on the first floor of the 3400 building. The college fair is offered to help students recognize the opportunities available to them with a post-secondary education.

Deciding on which colleges to apply for can be intimidating for many students, and the admission process is largely viewed a stressful time in one’s life. CCHS teachers and other college advisors will be giving information sessions throughout the Tuesday night, starting at 6:30 p.m. and lasting roughly 35 minutes each. The topics range from standardized testing and EOC requirements to financial aid, dual enrollment and early admission.

The majority of the universities partaking in the College and Career Fair are located in Florida, but there will be a few representatives from out of state schools as well.
