The CCHS class of 2014 hosted Cowboy Idol on Friday, May 19th, in the auditorium.

Students came out to show off their talent, while friends and family filled the audience. Hosted by the previous 2013 Variety show hosts and Jake Miller, the night was filled with great energy while supporting the hard working class of 2014.

Jared Cohen and Perry Chin got the audience’s enthusiasm up with their rendition of “Suit and Tie” by Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. With Perry’s rapping, and Jared’s dance moves, this act brought great energy to the show.

“Everyone was amazing, and I’m so happy that so many people came out tonight. We raised well over $1,000 for our class, and I couldn’t be happier” Class President Ashley Morin said.

Bailey Morgan performed a cover of  “Bound to You” by Christina Aguilera while Simon Shuham played the piano flawlessly. Bailey blew the crowd away with her powerhouse voice and deep emotion that she put into the song.

The judges gave their scores of stars, with three stars as the highest possible score and one being the lowest. All of the finalists had one last opportunity to show off their cords by performing a short a capella for the audience to judge based on applause.

Mariella Amanna came in first place after making it to the finals with “Titanium” by David Guetta & Sia and hitting her notes in the a cappella round. The Class of 2014 considered the show a huge success, with many passionate performances and a lively audience.

“It was a really great show, with lots of great performers and we had a nice audience.” Cowboy Idol Judge Mr. Meyer said.
