CCHS students will hit the runway next Thursday night for the Fashion Academy’s “Alice in Wonderland” themed fashion show, beginning at 7 p.m. in the CCHS auditorium.

The second annual fashion show is put together by CCHS’s Fashion Applications students. The fashion academy has worked in partnership with DECA to organize and promote the event.

It was the student’s responsibility to come up with the theme, decide who the vendors would be, make phone calls and collect donations, said sponsor Linda Snider, who is overseeing the event.

Auditions for the models were held in November. Since then, they have been working on their walk and style. Many of those selected were models in last year’s show.

The show, hosted by Jeremy Rosenstein, Marni Rosenstein, Maya Yuchtman, Brandon Osorio and Marissa Cohen, will feature a variety of clothing styles, including casual, swimsuit, club and prom attire. This year’s show includes clothing lines from Dresses Four Me, Charming Charlie, and Jantzen Swimwear. The show is also being sponsored by OPI, Publix, New River Groves, Cookies by Design, Kilwins and The Home Depot.

“We’ve been working on putting the show together almost every day,” fashion applications student Carly Miller said. “We want to ensure that everything runs smoothly the day of the show.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Fashion Academy program. All of the dresses in the show will be donated to Becca’s Closet, a non-profit organization that collects used prom dresses and distributes them to girls in need. Last year, over 150 dresses were collected and they are hoping to exceed that number this year.

The show will follow a pre-party at 6 p.m. with refreshments for the models, their families and DECA members.

Tickets will be on sale at the door for a regular admission price of $5 or $3 with either a dress, shoes, purse or suit to donate to Becca’s Closet.
