Cooper City High School`s annual fashion show was hosted in the auditorium on March 13th, 2014 to raise money and donate dresses to Becca`s closet while also presenting current fashion.

For the past three years, the CCHS fashion students have organized the fashion show in order to gain fashion and business management skills. Much effort went into putting on the show. Level 2 students in fashion class worked on the theme and outfits throughout the school year. Practices occurred twice a week to help aid models in preparation for opening night and to allow the fashionistas to make adjustments to the presentation.

The theme this year was a` Paris. Following the theme, outfits resembled those of French descent, including corsets and puffy bottom dresses, portraying a retro/urban look. Other categories included swim, prom, business and trash bag creations, in which ten groups from the fashion class designed dresses made completely out of trash bags. Besides raising money, the fashion show also collected donations of gently used dresses to be sent to Becca`s Closet in order to provide less fortunate girls with dresses that they can wear to their school dances.

The clothing seen in the fashion show was provided by area department stores such as Macys and Dillards to showcase and advertise current styles. Besides presenting the latest fashion trends, the fashion show incorporated other entertainment presented by the show’s hosts Kyle Sabrin, Sarah Caicedo, Brandon Aguiar and Andres Carrasco. Between categories these entertainers introduced dancing and skits.

“This was an absolutely great show with great music and a purpose to show trendy clothing fashions,” Fashion Teacher Linda Snider said.
